Description

Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines Festival hosts a variety of seminars on Saturday. The second session schedule is as follows:

Brewmasters Seminar Track II: "Extreme...ly Simple Beers" by Lasse Ericsson and Andrew Colley of Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri in Sweden.
Track II: Saturday 12:45–1:35 pm Location: Summit Gallery, Peaks 9 & 10, Beaver Run Conference Center
True to style and True to ourselves. Our journey of crafting balance and quality in our beers over the latest craze or explosive flavor. Perceptions of craft beers have changed while many of our recipes have stayed the same. How we can stand out from the crowd with simple beers.

Technical Seminar Track II: “The Multiple Personalities of Brett” by Jensen Cummings of Brewed Food with fellow panelists Jeff Albarella of Jessup Farm Barrel House, Jeffrey Airman of Paradox Beer Co., Kyle Carbaugh of Wiley Roots, and Andy Parker of Avery Brewing Co.
Saturday 12:45–1:35 pm  Location: Imperial Ballroom, Beaver Run Conference Center
Brewed Food’s Chef & Certified Cicerone Jensen Cummings and Inland Island Yeast bring another series of Good Bugs collaboration brews to Big Beers, Belgians & Barleywines once again. The Good Bugs team will present “The Multiple Personalities of Brett”. Brett is an odd fella, with many faces and expressions. You may know of his horse blanket affinity, however there are so many more sides and potential to explore. From vegetal to cracked pepper to tropical fruit to minerality to floral, Brett will surprise and delight!

Sensory Workshop Track II: “DIY Beer Pairing Dinners” with Justin Wright and TBD.
Saturday 12:45–1:35 pm  Location: Base 9 Bar, Beaver Run Resort
Join Justin Wright as we venture into the world of beer and food pairings that you can do at home.  You’ll go home with better knowledge of the 5 flavors we can taste and how to maximize your DIY beer and food pairings. There will be several example beer and food pairings provided.

Random Track II: “Ancient Scandinavian Beer Styles” with Josh Cody of Colorado Malting Company and his panelists Aaron Stueck of BJ’s Brewhouse, Jan Chodkowski of Our Mutual Friend, and John Bricker of Three Barrel Brewing.
Saturday 12:45–1:35 pm  Location: Summit Gallery, Peaks 11- 12, Beaver Run Conference Center
Scandinavia is rich with some of the worlds oldest brewing traditions.  This panel will discuss the traditional processes and brewing data learned on site for Sahti in Finland, Stjørdasøl in Norway and Faddersøl in Denmark. Authentic examples of these unique styles will be presented for tasting via collaboration brews with panelists.

Don't forget to purchase tickets to each seminar in advance and there is only limited seating available!
