Summer in Breckenridge is in full swing, and it’s important to take the time to appreciate this amazing time of year (which always seems to come and go way too quick)! Many say, “locals in Summit live here for the winters, but continue to stay for the summers.” That is the truth! The summers are stunning because they are radiating with sunshine, full of great beers with awesome pals, outdoor activities, live music on the lawns, and movies under the stars! Breckenridge does an awesome job of bringing in a variety of summer festivals to enjoy throughout town. Whether you are a local or tourist in town these festivals are a must hit for everyone!

Here is your Local’s Guide on How to Navigate the Breck Festivals this Summer

National Repertory Orchestra

Runs Through July 26th, 2019

When it comes to The National Repertory Orchestra, this is the local’s first chair! The Orchestra, based right here in Breck, auditions nearly 1,000 musicians between the ages of 18 and 29 in about 25 different cities across the country to fill their 88 tuition-free spots! You should definitely spend an afternoon enjoying the NRO’s series of “Music for Everyone.” These little musical gatherings take place in different spots around Main Street and provide awesome opportunities to hear the talent of this orchestra in a more intimate environment.

Breckenridge Oktoberfest

September 6th-8th

Hip, Hip Hooray! Let’s all celebrate the German way! Oktoberfest in Breckenridge is a long-time tradition for our little town and has continued to grow each year! The growth of this lively festival is ongoing due to the atmosphere that uproars during this weekend! The traditional, upbeat German tunes boom through Main Street, while friends cheer with their steins together, eat juicy sausages, and dance their hearts out. Also, this festival tends to have great after-parties around town, which is something to look forward to…Prost!

Breckenridge Wine Classic

September 12th-15th

I know what you are thinking now reading through these festivals…’man these Breck people really like to drink.’ Well I would say that is the truth! Like any good mountain town, ending a day with a beverage is a victory to our work hard, play harder mentality. The Breckenridge Wine Classic is for those wine lovers out there again! The vino will definitely be flowing at this one with a multitude of aromas and undertones. A local favorite, Carboy Winery, will be one of the 30 wineries joining us in Breckenridge for the flavorful delights of the grape!

Breckenridge Strings, Ciders & Sours Festival

September 27th-29th

This festival pretty much combines everything great about modern brew and jamming in the mountain. I mean what’s better than a little ‘fiddle love and crispy, tasty suds?’ Some of our favorite, local Breckenridge breweries will be featuring sips of their best sours and ciders, including Broken Compass Brewery, Breckenridge Brewery, and Outer Range. However, it does not stop there… About 20 breweries will be giving out samples of their ciders and sours at this event! So, make it over to Main Street Station for a loose time, while listening to the Buffalo Commons (Steamboat Springs Bluegrass Band)!
